Camshaft sensor problems on 3v 5.4
Ok I have 2004 F-150 Supercrew with a 5.4 and I have a weird problem; it's throwing a code bank A camshaft sensor. The tough thing to figure out is the truck normally runs fine when the sensor is unplugged but also runs fine when bank A sensor is plugged in and bank B is unplugged. If you plug both in though it runs real rough. The guy I bought it from said his mechanic just left the sensor unplugged and it never gave him any trouble but today I cranked it up and it idled rough and after going down the road it kept running rough and the check engine light started flashing. Pulled over cut it off, didn't unplug the battery or anything, let it sit for a minute and cranked it back up and it ran ok. Replaced bank A sensor and it still runs rough when you plug the sensor in. Any ideas??

Cam sensor problem
Hi, Just wondering if you ever found out what your problem was? I to have this. The engine runs rough but if I unplug the passenger side cam sensor, it sounds fine. I get terrible gas milage as well.
Thanks
