Cam shaftoo long- has anyone seen this before?
Loooooong story short, my 2004 5.4 triton through a valve over a month ago. Figured it was easier to get a reman head than to get a new cam shaft/valve job.
Bought the head through Autozone, supplied by ATK/Surefire engines. Took a long time to get, everything looked good, installed.
After trashing a brand new cam phaser, I found the front of the cam shaft is too long. Head looks good, lobes are all lined up with the rollers, etc. The end of the cam shaft is just too long.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Guy at Surefire said he has no idea how this could have happened.
