I have read good reviews, but I was hoping for some more input. At this point, I know my truck sounds like a diesel but I havent been able to pinpoint exactly what it is yet. (read: not experienced enough) If indeed cam phasers appear to be the issue, is this $700 going to be well spent?

That locks the cams out thus eliminating the variable cam timing. I have not driven a stock 3v vehicle with it locked out but I would assume you may give up some power at a certain point in the curve.
