Default CAI and tune

So I'm thinking about gettin some custom tunes for my truck. Im runnin the AEM Brute Force and ive read that it could be running too lean? it seems to drive great and i dont see how it could be hurting it but regardless im looking at the xcal 3 from vmp. I really dont feel like waiting the multiple months for troyer and vmp is a bit cheaper. unless someone really has something bad to say about vmp im gonna go with them when i get my next paycheck. now as for tunes i have seen that to get the best overall performance (both hp/tq and gas mileage) that the 91 octane performance is great...step on it and its a whole different ball game and drive conservatively and your gonna get great mileage. is this true or should i get the mileage specific tune? i think im gonna get the 87 towing, 87 performance, and 91 performance...does that sound smart?
