take the money you are going to use on a CAI and buy a decent programer.. it will be money well spent..

Generally people recommend doing the Gotts Mod (http://www.fordf150.net/articles/idx...ification.html) opposed to a CAI because the return on a CAI kit just isn't worth it.

The stock intake is:
- already a cold air intake
- does not drone and is quiet
- handily outflows the needs of a stock engine
- comes with the truck ( hence no extra $$$)
- is f'ugly (but folks typically don't drive around without a hood)
An aftermarket intake requires a tune with a corrected MAF TF table to adjust for the skew that mostaftermarket CAI's impart on the MAF transfer function.

The only reason I want a different CAI intake is because when I bought my truck. The guy before me put cheap aftermarket everything on it. To include a Spectre CAI so I was thinking about replacing it. But I think I'm going to go the Edge route first. Come on tax returns haha

You can find a good stock system either at a salvage yard or by advertising on this forum.
If I needed one, I would advertise here first. If not successful, find one at a salvage yard.
If you purchase an aftermarket unit, the only advantage will be the chrome or polished aluminum to enhance the looks.
Also, the paper filter elements provide much cleaner airflow and will not create issuess with your MAF sensor.
