Default Cai after custom tune

Got a custom tune on my truck a while back and decided that now I'm going to put a afe stage 2 intake on it. The website its on says it does not require a custom tune but just wondering if it would work on mine since it's already tuned by 5 star and I specified stock intake when purchasing them

All that intake will do is add sound if that is what you are after. Our trucks already have a CAI as it draws air from the fender and not the engine bay. This is a well known fact. Save your money for other mods, CAI's are not worth the extra minimal (2-5 hp) for the cost.

While the above comment seems to be the general consensus, just email 5* and check with them. I'd anticipate they will say they don't need write any new tunes

I do not understand paying money for something like this that pulls air from inside the engine bay when the stock tube goes through the fender to the outside world.

My comment is a fact, not a consensus. No hot intake outperforms a cool intake.

As to the OP's question, SnowDawg is correct, best to ask 5* instead of us shadetrees.

It is amazing on how this poor example of a so called CAI will attract new owners of vehicles. When I visit a local car or truck show, there will be several youngsters gathered at an engine bay with one of these installed; their eyes resemble deer looking into headlights.

I'm only interested in cai because i already have underdrive pulleys, tuner and custom tunes and true dual exhaust, I figured the intake is the next thing on the cheaper end before regear or lt headers( which I hear are a pain to Install) im trying to get to 250 rwhp

Haha! Don't take my comment wrong, I was just telling him they have good customer service so it doesn't hurt to shoot them an email. This coming from a master- sketch ball himself.

To get 250 rwhp all it would take me is to unplug two injectors.
