Cab noise from exhuast is too loud
I have searched high and low for what i'm looking for, but can't seem to pinpoint it. Maybe i'm looking in the wrong places. But anyways, i have an 06 f150 and i just intalled a Super 44 muffler, single out. I find it extremely too loud in the cab. The drone i guess is ridiculous. It is starting to give me a headache and i have to make a 9 hour drive this weekend and don't know if i can handle it. Is there anything i can install real quick to lessen the noise?
Also i have a turndown coming off the muffler, under the back right seat. I don't know if i should extend the pipe out the back and then throw the turndown on or what. Anything will help as long as i won't have toi spend too much money.
Thank you for any suggestions.

You can do 1 of 2 things : (1) you could extend the exhaust all the way out and turn it down .(2) you can try some type of sound deadening material under the carpet , or do both.

Where is the muffler? If the turn down is just behind the rear seat, I suspect the muffler is under the cab, which is the source of your drone (A.K.A. headache).
You're not going to gain any drone reduction by just moving the exhaust down tube to the back....you're going to have to have the muffler moved back further, or changed to one that appeals to you sound wise within the cab.
Talk to the muffler shop that did the work; they can help you and offer additional suggestions.

I have an 06 as well with Super 44s. My brother in law had turndowns on it when we bought it from him and i left it like that for awhile and it was really loud like you are saying. After christmas i got the pipes extended out. It sounds better and less noisy while idling but at certain rpms its still really loud (which doesnt bother me, i love it) but if your going on a 9 hour drive, im assuming interstate or highway, they are not too bad turning the radio on will basically drowned out the sound since you'll be at steady rpms
