Default A/C not working at idle

My ac will not cool when my truck (2006 screw 4x4 5.4)is sitting still/idling. When I begin to move it turns nice and cold. Is this normal for these trucks or do I have a problem? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Normal. Not enough air gets pulled through the A/C condensor at idle (fan cannot pull enough cool air through). When you throttle hard, you'll notice the A/C will cut off; this too is normal.

I was just going to ask about this yesterday. That is sucky. A/C not working at idle shouldn't be normal. Never had another vehicle that did that.

I have the same problem with my 2006 Lariat Supercrew 5.4L. Hard to believe you spend close to $40,000.00 and the A/C doesn't work better than this. I have a company provided, 2008 Ranger that works great.

Has anybody had trouble with the driver's side window switch? Goes down fine but I need to toggle it several times to get the window back up.

Should have done like they do on a Mercury Grand Marquis (and probably most other rwd vehicles) and run an electric fan when the a/c is switched on.

That's normally the window grabbing in the track, there's an easy and free fix: check out TSB 07-2-6.

Thanks, I would like to see it as that seems like the best way to eliminate this problem.
