There's no label under the hood, but everywhere I've checked I'm told it has a capacity of 2.13 pounds or 34oz.

So you were essentially empty, I hope its not the evaporator coil!

Interesting and probably one of the reasons why the 13's perform poorly, is the reduced size of the system. Yours 34 oz's my 13 is 24 oz's.

Good luck, let us know the outcome!

It's hard to believe my system was cooling at all, but then again I'm not an expert. Please god don't let it be the evaporator coil. I'm hoping not to see dye come out of that drainage pipe.

Is the capacity on the label the exact weight you should have in your system or can your system sometimes require less than capacity in order to achieve optimal performance?

I will answer what ford will tell you: the amount listed is what the system should be charged to based on ford engineers specifications.

Interesting idea. Same basic game of "try and stop the fan without dying lol".

Well my fan clutch passed that fan test. The fan chewed up the end of a newspaper with no problems. I was not able to stop the fan.

Roger. Check the pressure on your AC lines. You can get a shop to do it or get a manifold gauge set from HF.

The mechanic at the shop says pressures are fine. He did not take any vent readings, but says the truck is cooling fine. There were no leaks found under UV light inspection. I have some doubts. I feel like my a/c can cool better, so I will probably get a second opinion or buy my own manifold gauge set sometime.

If the r134a capacity for my truck is 34oz and the mechanic billed me for 32oz does that mean I possibly only had 2oz in my system? How can there be no leak? Would my system still be able to cool like that? I bought my truck used, so I don't know much of it's history. It has always cooled, but was a little on the weak side on hot summer days.

FYI I read that it's normal for lower blower speeds to producer colder air from the system.
