Yup. had to replace accumulator and o-tube on mine for compressor warranty to be honored. Also had to be flushed. That job sucked....

Okay the mechanic is telling me that he believes it's the evaporator that's leaking. He quoted me $800 to replace it, but he also says I need to replace the compressor, drier, orifice tube and possibly the condenser for another $800-$1000. So I'm looking at about $1,600-$1,800 in repairs. This sucks! I'll probably do the outside repairs myself and just let them replace the evaporator.

O-Tube is easy, compressor and accumulator are aggravating. The quick release springs on my accumulator were seized up and wouldn't release, had to use a dremmel and slowly cut into it to break the spring. lol Had to remove fan shroud, fan, battery and tray, PCM and bracket. Think that was it. I did it in July though, so it made it that much more worse.

That leak picture looks like the drip is pink, which is probably ATF fluid..
But it does look like oil is all over the place too.. I'd address those leak(s) before screwing with the AC. Could be a rear main seal, oil pan gasket or maybe even the Tourque converter or transmission pump that's leaking.. Hopefully it's not all of the above.. Clean the area good and watch that area for a couple drive cycles..

That doesn't sound too bad. I'll probably buy the Haynes manual for this and work on it next weekend.

I think it's coming from near the oil filter, but it could be the rear main seal. I'll clean the area up and have a closer look this weekend. I can't really drive her right now without the power steering.

Is it possible to buy a shorter drive belt to bypass the compressor for now? That way I can address the oil leak first.

I found out they make a bypass pulley. I might do that just to get it back on the road at least until I can get a complete a/c repair job done and fix the oil leaks.
