Yeah I'm probably gonna run the 2.5" spacer with the bilstein's. I just put 35's on my truck and I don't want the 2" option on the bilsteins to come up short on me... I also hear the 04 and 05 models tend to need more lift then the 06+... So that's why I'm nervous about lacking lift with the 2" option... I'm also going to buy a 1.5" AAL for the rear after I get done installing the shocks...

I started a live chat on autoanything and made them price match with www.sdtrucksprings.com
They did better then match on both sets of shocks, and I didn't even need to use a coupon code... With the free shipping at autoanything, I just couldn't say no...

I payed $140 for the rears shipped.
Then 259 for the fronts shipped.

This deal was only available through the live chat function on their website... I talked to a guy named Edgar M. Try asking for him....

I will keep you posted... Hopefully they will be here by the end of the week...

Can someone please explain to me why the 04-05 models don't yield the same amount of lift as a 06+? I just don't see how this is possible, unless its a difference in the factory strut for the 04 and 05 model years??? Anybody??

I am looking forward to seeing how it looks. I already have the 2.5 HBS spacer on the front and the AAL in the rear. With 133K I think its time for an update to the OEM shocks. Did you have to buy a new strut mount for the fronts? I am not looking to get anymore lift since I dont think the control arms can take it, just looking to replace the OEM for something nice.

there is actually 2 different shocks. there is a set for the 04-05 which only have 2 settings of stock or leveled. while the 06-08 have 4 settings.

Me too!
I've read so many up and down reviews of the bilsteins, that they have me thinking a spacer might actually work well... Some people think that the ride on the bilsteins set to max height is obnoxious, and others say its tolerable... Either way it sounds firm... Smoother rides are reported with the spacer and the bilstein set to zero lift... I wanted it mainly as a replacement shock anyways, and I'm looking for more firmness.. The biggest thing I don't want to loose is my lift. I don't want to end up rubbing my 35's with a 2" bilstein only lift... I am however curious just to try the bilsteins with their 2" pre load lift, so when I get the shocks I'm going to set aside a good day to possibly try both...

im not sure on the p/n. i know when i ordered mine for my 04 it only hade 2 notches on it. while the instructions said there was supposed to be 4. so i only assumed the 04-05 were different than the 06-08.

I've got the Billstiens on mine but I left it at 0" lift and used the 2.5" HBS levelling kit. I was too high on the front so I ended up putting on Readylift 3" blocks in the rear (replaced the 1.5" factory blocks) to bring it back to normal. The only reason I decided to go with the 2.5" kit and not using the Billstien lift options is I read around about the ride stiffness (as you're compressing the coil more to gain that lift) AND you can only do 2" max with the billstiens I believe. I cannot confirm this though as I haven't tried without the HBS lift!

Overall I'm quite happy with the setup. I'm running only about 33" (Nitto Terra Grapplers) though with stock 18" FX4 rims.
