Default Burnouts

Know it's not the smartest thing but I tried a brake stand burnout in my truck and can't do one. I hold the brake with my left and slam gas with right but my truck wheels don't move and engine rpm only goes to 2000 and stay there with full gas. If I let go of brake then the rom goes up with vehicle speed. Is this normal? Shouldn't I be able to smoke tires in a 2wd truck??

fyi, thats a great way to brake something.

but heres how to do it, you need to find the "sweet spot" where you are braking just enough to hold your truck while hitting the gas. dont use full brake. and dont flat out stamp the gas pedal, up the rpms quickly, but steadily. if that doesnt work, release the brake with a good amount of throttle then hit the brake again to rock the truck forward, should brake the tires loose enough to get em smoking. again though, its a great way to brake expensive stuff and i dont recomend doing it. tires are expensive anyways.

It also works better if you stomp the gas and hit the brake a split second behind it. Just don't slam the brake. May take some practice. Careful where you do it cause of tickets, and yeah you may cause damage to someone or something. Not gonna hurt the truck. Mine gets slammed with over 500lbft of torque at the wheels and whether I do a massive burnout or a dead hook with drag slicks its fine. Even stomping it at 40mph and squalling tires has never caused an issue. Just a big ole grin.

Stick around here a while, like the mods and senior members have, and see a lot of the silly things some people can do. The forum here is for helping people work and use their trucks SAFELY. There's a reason we have a sticky for things like street racing, we don't condone illegal or unsafe activities. You can still go out and do them, that's your choice, just know that if someone asks information on it a disclaimer will be given.
Maybe it's age or maturity, but we like people to be safe and have fun.
