Default burning smell

So I recently am having this smell coming from my engine. I thought it might be my AC compressor but I'm not sure. It smells like electrical tape burning or plastic. Any ideas?

See if your calipers are stuck. That would create a lot of heat and melt the splash guards (and ruin your brakes / rotors after a while among other things).

I don't think it's that. What could burn in an ac compressor?

So I think that burning smell was my air conditioner compressor because I just replaced it and I do not smell anything anymore.
