Bumper Adjustment
I just noticed that on my 'new' 06 Lariat, that the rear bumper is slightly mis-aligned. It is too far to the right. I need to move it about 1/2" to the left. Is this easy? and how would I go about this? (as you can tell I know little to nothing about fixing trucks-willing to learn however!)

I have the same issue on my 08' FX2 screw The left side sticks out from the body about 1'-1.5" It bugs the hell out of me. Lets find a fix to this....
I have the tow package as well.

We tried to build the bumper for the rear of these trucks and fund out the factory tow package was built into the bumper and coupldn't do it, so we had to make a receiver in our bumper so people can still tow.....
It was a bad design by ford......wanna know another bad design? Try and change a stud on the rear axle of your truck...... you need to open the dif...separate the inner axles and pull the assembly out to change a wheel stud.... a $3.00 part with over $100 in labor....lmao
Here's another bad design...body mounts usually go up into the cab on every make and model out there so its easy to change the bushings....Ford decided to go down through the cab so you have to pull the trim, then pull up the carpet to access the body mount screws......

The rear bumper is attached to the truck by the hitch, if I remember right there are 10 bolts, theses are not adjustable. The only way to adjust the rear bumper is by the 6 bolts that the hitch it mounted to the frame with.
I have done this myself so it is possible to do.
You will need a 13/16th deep 1/2 drive socket, many need to put a pipe on the ratchet to get the leverage needed to break the bolts free. I had two friends hold the bumper while I loosen the bolts, made the adjust and tighten it back up. There is also up/down movement on the bolts so make sure both sides are even or the bumper with not be level from left to right.
Also don't take the bolts off all the way, just enough to move it, do this so that if who ever is holding it were to slip the bumper/hitch don't fall to the ground and rip the 7-pin from the truck! (almost happened to me)
When you get it were you want it tighten the bolts back to 129 Ft/lbs
