A friend of mine has a 2004 Lariat. The other day she was driving down the road with the passenger side rear door glass about half way down, and the glass just dropped, and cracked the glass. As I understand it, it was a $2-300 repair.

Anyone ever have this happen to them? Was there a TSB on this?

This truck is a garage queen, that has 34k on it.

Window regulator failed most likely and the glass just hit wrong when it dropped. Mine failed when it was in the body shop so they fixed it for free but the window was fine.

Lots of people have had that happen... Window gets stuck, then all the sudden drops. Most of the time it doesn't break as it is tempered glass but you got unlucky. $2-300 sounds about right to me. Or you could just order a new piece. They are actually pretty well priced from the dealerships or order from a automotive glass shop.

Save yourself some money and do it yourself.
