Default Brakes and rotors on 2006 Lariat

I just talked to a mechanic about fixing my brakes. The rotors are shaking bad on mine. He suggested getting new rotors, calipers and pads. Apparently the calipers are notorious for going bad and messing up the new rotors or turned rotors. He said that the old caliper doesn't release correctly and will cause damage to the new rotor. Does this sound right to you all? I want to get mine right the first time so I don't waste time.

Sounds right to me,I had a caliper stick and it overheated my rotor to the point that it literally melted my wheel bearing
