Brakes and Rotor Replacement

Brakes and Rotor Replacement
Well, it's time to replace the rotors and pads on my 06 Lariat 4x4. Googled it and came up with 1000 different options from 250.00 for four new cross drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads to 500.00 for the same option. Anybody have any experience with a good source for replacements? Any thoughts on the 50.00 rotors vs. the 125.00 ones? Called my local Carquest and they were on the low side of the price spectrum so I want to get the best deal without giving up quality, especially on the brakes. Any help is greatly appreciated....

Can't speak to rotors. When I replaced my pads, the rotors had plenty of life left on them. So I simply got them turned.
As for pads, I'd suggest EBC or Akebono. I had EBC's on my last F150 and they were super quiet, provided great stopping with the stock rotors and seemed to be long lasting. On my current F150, I just installed the Akebono pads. They've been on for about 3 months and are very quiet, providing better than stock stopping power, but can't say on longevity yet.
Just my thoughts. Oh, and try to go ceramic if you don't want a lot of brake dust.

"You get what you pay for" Go with a reputable brand. I have EBC's all around on my truck, green pads, dimpled & sloted rotors, no dust, stops grate. no problems.
