Default Brake job

Ok I have a 05 screw 4x4 with 5.4 motor with about 50,000 miles so I get the brake vacum hose recall done at the dealer they tell my rear brakes are shot. Was told front brakes about 50-60% left. Shouldn't front brakes go first? So a brake job with new rotors will cost me about 450.00, was told rotors cost about 140 each. Auto zone has them for 47.99. So I have a friend who can do brake jobs try to do it 138.00 for rotors, brake pads and misc. stuff. Start doing work and look at rear rotors are hardly worn compared to new ones. So I feel dealer was trying to F me. Pads worn out. While doing pads thought I was all set so I thought. Looked at caliper and it was cracked in many places on inside on both rear calipers. WTF It's made of alumminum on the inside. So I ask my fellow Ford friends has this happen to anyone besides me?

that's a new one on me brother man. Perhaps the piston inside the caliper was applying too much pressure causing the pads to wear out quickly and build up too much pressure on the aluminum. That's just a left field guess.

On a personal note, I've had nothing but crap from Autozone, in my town here, there overpriced and most of the time, there parts are junk. Some of the people that work there don't know squat. I'll go there for a quart of oil or something but that's about it.

You should have the brake proportional valve checked.
