Lol we all know the saying... Opinions are like *******s everyone has one. Over 100 ob a caliper is not an expense I can condone unless I have removed the caliper and find it to be very tight, not moving at all, or clearly cracked visibly. Again, just my opinion.

I have NEVER heard of brake heat damaging hubs it anything other than directly related brake parts and to do that the pads would have to be riding on the rotors constantly to get them hot like red glowing and/or smoking. I have done my handfull of F150 brakes and never replaced a hub or anything else for that matter with a caliper. Again, just my view.

Replacing wheelbearings/hubs is like changing underwear for my truck. I've already done it 3 x bc I used to beat on it in the woods. I've been gentle with him for a while now though. I do have a lot of mud underneath there though. When we cleaned out between the caliper and rotor alot of nice things came oozing out haha.

BACK in BLACK - I'm in FL, so idk if I'd make it to NY to be able to do the work haha.

P.S. I need a good floor jack for my truck, any suggestions?

And the hammer idea sounds a little dangerous. Also I wouldnt replace a caliper unless I had to. As long as the piston moves freely you should be ok. "just replacing it" is pricey. Also fords oem parts are all you should be using unless you have a purpose for changing to aftermarket. Fords quality far surpasses most after market brands. Our pads I believe are mad in Italy I found out today. Not sure if its all pads but at least on the escapes they are.
Not true! OEM pretty much garbage on these trucks. If you think it's all American made....think again. Definately go Aftermarket and do some homework and you will find better parts than OEM for certain. No expert here, but if BREMBO makes calipers and pads for these trucks for a reasonable price(not likely on price) I would go there. Research other possibilities before sticking with OEM products when in a position to replace certain parts on these trucks. Not saying everything on it sucks, but the brakes do! " AS LONG AS THE PISTON MOVES FREELY YOU SHOULD BE OK??" Get them fixed properly for piece of mind and performance if nothing else

Walmart sells decent floor jacks for 80 bucks or so. I have the 4.6 and it will pick up the whole front end. Grease fittings for maintenance as well
