Default Boom!!! bye bye differential

I have been having some minor problems with my truck this past week that have been putting me in a bad mood. I have been having throttle body problems lately that I finally fixed today by cleaning and porting my intake manifold and throttle body. They were very dirty and caked with mud in some spots. I have to remember to clean those more often after off roading. So I was pretty happy today because my truck is finally running at full potential again. Then after stopping at a stop sign I hit the gas to test my 0-60 times when boom, lots of loud noises and the truck will not move. At first I thought it was my transmission but then when I looked under the truck the driveshaft was spinning and the truck was not moving so I assumed it was the diff. Ill be taking it to my buddies shop tom to pull it apart. I cant get a break from fixing something right now. Well I just needed to vent a little.

i would assume just a broken axle shaft..... hopefully anyways. if thats the case easy cheap fix. if you blew the ring and pinion ur looking a little more expensive. honestly the 8.8 is a nice rear end. i guess if you constantly beating on it you might have issues especially if your running a big tire. if it is the ring and pinion you might be able to find a used rear from a 5.4L and youll get the bigger ring gear so hopefully it wont happen again

chances are it may just be the spiders or side gears. if so its an hour job to R&R those. cross your fingers! as the others said, if its not spiders and its going to cost alot to fix, maybe an axle upgrade is due

Well I decided to put a Auburn Pro Series Posi in it because im low on cash and I got a killer deal. $200 and I just installed it this morning but it looks like the ring and pinion needs to be replaced also aahhhhh. Never a dull moment but at least it moves again for now.
