Body Work. Guilty of multiple threads...
What's up guys? I'm guilty of posting this thread twice. I tried to put it in the Body Work section of the forum, but it appears that people only go in there to view threads and not reply, and they only go on in but once a week. That said, I am having some rust issues with my fenders on my bed. I'll be able to take some pictures today after I get done teaching, but I'll start with my predicament.
I have some rust on the back fenders of my 06 XLT. I had it taken care of, but the body shop didn't cut enough metal, and sure enough it's back . I need a good body shop in the Chicago area that won't cost me an arm and a leg. The last shop said it was $2500 worth of work, but I only paid about $500 due to a deal with the dealership. The rust has come back LESS THAN 9 months after I had it taken care of.
It's no where near as bad as it was last year, but I'd like to get it taken care of so I can throw some POR15 on there and get it repainted.
After I get the POR15 and whatnot, I was wondering if flares may help reduce the issue of rust.
OR would cutting the sheet metal completely and just throwing flares on be a better option?

Mattloz how's your project coming? I talked with a body shop, even with buying everything myself (bedsides) and having it shipped, they are quoting me about $2,500-3000 worth of work to get the bed side put on, and painted.
