body lift installed w/pics
got tired of the 6" lift and my 35's were beyond bald so since i had a BL in my garage waiting to go on, i started the install last Tuesday. i started at 3pm after i got home from work tearing stuff down....so many steps. anyways, about 12 hours of work later and it was done. i can see now why so many shops either refuse to do it, or charge $800 labor for the install.
the side steps hide the frame quite well i think
got 4 tires for $500 locally. the guy said they have 50% tread left but they look like they have more then that to me. what do you guys think?
i went with 37x13.5x20 but 38's would clear just fine
PA wants $83 plus shipping for the gap guards for my truck. way too much money for rubber. i went on ebay and found sheets of neoprene so i ordered one, came to $25 shipped to my door. ill just make my own and save some cash
the truck handles just fine, no excessive body roll like more people claim. the truck even seems to ride smoother over pumps. most likely due to the tires being larger (more side wall to absorb shock)
i think when these tires go bald ill get some dirt logics for the front and crank them a little. then do an AAL in the rear and i should be able to fit 39's

thanks guys
not a big fan of the tires but i got a good deal so i dont care. i dont really like how they are directional, its going to limit how i rotate them. front to back and back to front is all i can do

9" of lift. im 5'11" and when i walk up to the bed my nose is the same hight as the plastic on the top of the bed. i can get another inch or two if i went to coil overs and crank them or just get the fabtech shocks and throw in a leveling kit. if i go with bigger tires ill have to regear to 5.13 i wish i had done that in the first place and not 4.88's
