Default cluster mod

removing the cluster, take it apart, removing all the coating off the back of the face that covers the nubmers. everything that you want blue, needs to be clear. all the red stuff is in the face and wont come off (it might if you keep at it... but you might mess up the face.) Buy the color LED's you want #74's (you need 6) take out the regular bulbs and install the led's (they are one way so if they don't work flip them 180) install the face and see what you got, if you like then install the thin plastic on the back then install it in the truck. turn on the truck and then turn off, wait @ 30 sec for the guages to reset. lightly install the needles (just set them on the post) turn on the key then turn off the key, watch the needles go DOWN then back up to the resting spot, adjust as needed by pulling stright odd then setting back on.... repeat till they are where you want them. ******speedo is set a little under the 10, as it dosen't move untill the truck is moving at around 5-7 mph**** after the needles are set then press down on the needles( put a fork under the needles so they don't go down too far) after the needles are set install the clear cover. Check one last time. The needles are just a custom job I did cause I didn't want to spend the $$ to get them from aftermarket.

how do you mke sure that you accurately set the needles for the fuel, oil psi, water temp and volts? do you just have to remember how much fuel is in the tank, and then what temp the engine is?

Default needles

the cluster adjusts itself. go turn you key on, then turn it off and watch the needles, after @ 20 sec they dip and then go back to ZERO, that's when you put the needles back on. then turn the key on and off again and make sure they are where you want them. if no pull off and redo the key and wait then lay them where you want them, after you've checked and they are correct, then place a fork under them and press down. recheck and your set
