There are a lot of threads posted about spark plugs and a lot of things on the web. Most of the problems with blown plugs that I have seen where pre 2005. The problems with the newer fords is folks can`t get them out without breaking them off. There with be others along shortly that can answer your question better than me because I haven`t had that problem yet. Other that I have read about use a heli coil, I`ve seen the kits and different tools in Advance Auto and O`Relly`s auto. I`m sure your local parts dealer has these kits. Good luck with the repair. Check your coil while your at it. One good thing I guess is that it is in the middle of the motor and not the back . I`m sure someone with better advise will be along there are some pretty smart folks here.

That`s news to me and would be one less worry for folks. Greg the spark plugs in your truck where they the long ones with the sheath around the bottom.

ford is keeping it low key so everyone and there mothers are not going to run down to ford . The only thing is it has to have a code pop up, I have one more injector ticking (like the last one before it went) and he will not replace it intell the engine light comes up with a code

Ford did extend the warranty coverage on the injectors for the 5.4L in the 2005 F150 but I've heard nothing about any extended warranty on spark plugs. The warranty on the injectors was extended to 11 years/120,000 miles.

Just call your local Ford dealership and talk with a service manager; they will tell you.
