I have a pretty standard FX4, no leather, no moonroof, just the basics, so I'm assuming it's all manually controlled by the turn dials, correct?
yep...sounds like mine..

Bumping this thread because I'm having a similar issue. Just noticed it on my way to work this morning so I have done no additional diagnosis. I did not have the blower working at any speed, including #4, which makes me think it is not the resistor. Funny thing is the previous owner replaced the blower motor once already, I would have to check to see when that was. I was under the dash last week installing the Kicker stereo upgrade, could I have bumped something? I think I used the heat just fine one my way to work yesterday though, can't remember for sure. I was hoping this would be an easy resistor fix, but doesn't seem like it. Sounds like the motor is not hard to pull, how do I test the motor? Oh and I did have heat and I did get it out of the selected vents just fine, but no blower noise at all. I've only had this truck a month, I hope this isn't a sign of things to come, 2012 with 104k miles.

I wanted to retract my previous statement. My cheapo $11 ebay resistor bit the dust. I just bought one from autozone with a limited lifetime warranty for $20. At least they are easy to fix.

Biscuit,

I just saw your post. I was very interested in your comment that your problem started after a stereo upgrade. I have a 2007 XLT that I am having similar problems. After a new stereo install which required removing the radio and heater control faceplate, my blower no longer runs. I have been chasing this for a week now. I have tested my blower and it does run so I am thinking it is the heater/ac module that may be bad.

To test the blower, it will do you no good to try to jumper the fan switch. Looks like that is all on the ground side and it goes through the resistor. I checked my blower by tracing the two blower motor wires back to a connector under the glove box. I disconnected the connector and ran a set of jumper jumper wires from a 12V battery pack to the blower leads in the connector. On my fan, it immediately started turning which tells me the blower is good. I checked my blower fuse and blower relay which are also good so I am thinking it may be in the heater/AC module in the dash panel. I may have bumped something on that which is now causing my problem.

I hope that helps.

I read through this thread and see common problems that I am having. This morning the fan blower was working fine on AC. All speeds. Then I noticed a whirring sound on the speed 1 and 2. I turned off the fan and climate control. When I went to turn it back on nothing. Just a noise like the blend door is opening, but no air comes out. This happened several days back and the fan blower just started working again after reseating the 40W fuse underneath the hood in the fuse panel box. I think a blower motor replacement is the answer but just wanted to get the forum members opinion. oh...F150 2002 FX Offroad Supercrew Cab with Triton 5.4L Thanks - R

matthew, mine is doing the same thing. Everything has been replaced., the blower, Blower relay, and Resistor. So far nothing has helped! the resistor came from O'Riley's auto parts and was around 20 bucks and easy to put in. I found also that if it is just the resistor, it only blows air on the highest level.
If you have found an answer by now please post here, or better yet message me!

I’m having that exact problem. Only high fan works. Is the resistor an easy fix. 2007 XLT.

Very easy. From what I remember, pull the glovebox out, and it's right there. Do a search on how to replace it, it's been a while, I could be missing something.
