Default Blinking Engine Light After Heavy Acceleration

So, 2 times in the last week, when I mash the go pedal to A) get on the freeway, and B) today, pass a fuel tanker, when it get to about 4 grand, it starts shaking bad, and the engine light starts blinking for about a half a mile. It runs really rough the whole time the light is blinking. Then, the light goes away, and it runs normal again. I bought my truck in Dec of 2007 with 32,000 miles, it now has 92,000 and I have not be able to afford any of the maintenance due to loosing my job a while ago. So, is there any ideas what's going on? If I take it to a place with a code reader, and the light is not on, will it still say whats wrong? This is the newest vehicle Ive owned, and I dont understand the computer stuff!

If you look in your manual, a blinking engine light is a misfire in the engine. I have seen mine do that once and felt it miss during hard excelleration. Waiting for my Lisle tool that is on backorder 3 to 4 weeks before I start changing my plugs.

Don't get too worked up over it. TAKE YOUR TIME and follow the TSB and you'll probably be just fine.

Yes the code will still be there if the CEL was on, but isn't when you scan the vehicle. The flashing CEL is a misfire that could damage the cats. Get it checked out sooner rather than later.

My trucks started shaking real bad a few times latly but no light and then it would just go away after a mile or so. At first I thought it might be an alignment problem but since it only does it for a short distance I'm begining to think it may be this probem. Its a 2004 5.4L 150000 miles. What do you guys think about this?
Thanks

150,000 miles? Original plugs?

Your answer may be obvious.
