Default Black F150 Emblems.

ive been trying to find a way to take the 9" ford emblems apart and paint the blue black. but i havent found a good way to do it. im tyring to make almost everything on my truck black. all i can find on the web is deacals.

I left them on the truck, used masking tape behind them. Got a textured black spray paint and went to town. 2 Years and 2 crappy Iowa winters and they look exactly the same as when I did them.

a guy in fl makes them as you want he made mine all chrome. looks killer kinda cheep also http://www.billetandacrylic.com/contact.htm

I think he means only paint the blue in the oval, leave the lettering chrome.

They make liquid painters tape. It's easy to cut out what you want to paint. You can also just use masking tape. Make sure you have a sharp razor.

I just painted all mine with bed liner then black paint to really get them jet black.

If you get the overlay off of the emblem, get all the blue off I used elbow grease and nail Polish remover, then all the thing you want left chrome use a crayon and go over them, paint the whole thing with paint, scrape off the parts with crayon off use your finger nails or something similar that wont leave scratches and the chrome is chrome the blue part is black

yea thats what i mean. sorry it wasnt very clear in the OP. from my searches on the internet alot of people said you cant really take the newer emblems apart like the old. is that true?

My 06 had a clear sticker over the emblem I used shear gun to remove it
