Default Bilstein 5100 Adjustable Shocks

I just got the bilstein 5100 adjustable front shocks and bilstein 5100 rear shocks installed on my 2005 FX4. I had coil spacers in the front before the change to level out the truck and got the adjustable front shocks so that I could still have the front level without the coil spacers. Mechanic said that he had to keep the coil spacers in because without them, there was a lot of rake. I'm confused how that would be possible? Any ideas?

He didn't set the spring plates on the 2" lift setting, probably kept them stock height. That's my Guess.

Thanks for the replies. I tried explaining it to him, but he didn't get it. I thought maybe I was going crazy. I may just have to take it to another mechanic that has installed these bilsteins before.

When coil spacers are put in, do they replace the factory coil spring mounts with new ones?

The spacer goes on top of the strut assembly.

The mechanic is not crazy, the bilstein's set to 2" tend to leave a lot of rake.. A 2.5 spacer is usually needed on the 04 - 05 model trucks to get them level.. I have an 04 and had to repurchase my auto spring 2.5 level after snapping the studs off my old AS level spacers. I noticed the newer versions of the AS level spacers are nearly an 1/8" thinner than the older kits.. My truck is now dead level with a tape measure, but honestly appears to have a very slight rake when looking at it...
