I have a bolt over billet grille, doesn't line up 100% perfectly, but you can't tell where it's off unless you're looking for it. What grilles are you working with?

i'm looking into a new grill as well but i want to keep my truck as dark and black on black as possible, may just stick with stock. I have had experience with grills on other vehicles and have found that almost every one will not match up perfectly but arent that much work to make fit right yourself

i get that to some extent you may have to bend them some. but this isn't a minor bend here. the contour of all these grills is not right. it is/was a precision grill that i am now returning to 4wheelparts for a refund seems as they are unable to get me one that's right. so i don't know i suppose i will just try my luck elsewhere maybe with a different brand

I have a lariat with the honeycomb grille. I heard that you have to do some cutting in order to get the honeycomb grille out. Does anyone have any experience with taking their honeycomb grille out? If you do have to cut it is it hard? I want to install a new grille but i am concerned about the cutting.

NO! Don't cut! I took the honeycomb out of my 06 Lariat. It's fairly simple really - unbolt the entire grille assembly from the hood - two bolts each side and 6 smaller ones along the leading edge of the grille and hood. Once this is done you will see that the honeycomb insert simply snaps into the grille surround. All you have to do is unsnap it.
That said, it ain't quite that easy. The snaps are hard and will break if you force them. That may or may not be an issue if you want to sell or keep the honeycomb insert. See, the snaps are on the insert so if you break several of them you just won't be able to use that insert again (well maybe it could be tie wrapped in?). The best advice is use a heat gun and slowly warm each of the snaps, this makes them more pliable and with a straight bladed screwdriver you can carefully separate them. Then you can simply snap in the new insert of choice, like a Roush grille. But cutting is definitely not needed.
Good luck
