Better Lighting?
Hey Everyone,
So I bought a new/used 2006 XTR about 5 months ago now and am still trying to work a few things out with it. it has a 6" pro comp lift and an add a leaf kit, its sitting on 35x12.5x18 Toyo open country Mt's and its sits decently high for what's in it. my issue I'm having right now is lighting....
it had a cracked back tail light and the Headlights were starting to get foggy and rough looking so I went to Spyder Lighting and ordered new Smoked Tail lights and Smoked Projector CCFl Halogen Headlights! looks amazing but its so dim that even the high beams don't do a whole lot and my truck doesn't have fog lights so it gets pretty hard to see at night, it also has a 20% tint all around so that probably doesn't help either... I'm not sure if its just that it sits higher, the beams aren't aimed properly, the tint, or that the headlights are smoked but its difficult driving at night and id like to fix this before winter hits to hard here.. would an HID kit help at all? Any info or ideas would be great! thanks guys!!!

Is start simple by making sure the headlights are aimed properly. Whoever put the lift in May have never worried about adjusting the lights correctly afterwards. If that doesn't work, you'll need to decide if you want tint on your windshield or your headlights and remove whichever one you're ok with. No reason to buy hids unless that really what you want, even still, if they aren't aimed correctly hids won't help either.

^^ If you really want to see where your going I second that....tinted headlights are also less than legal in a lot of areas (at least state side) any time from dusk to dawn.

I have the smoked spyder headlights with philips crystal vision ultra bulbs and can see perfectly maybe try those bulbs. The ones that come with the spyder lights are trash couldn't see crap

Careful with the kit though. I tried it back when I had Specd headlights (it's a spyder/specd kit) and the bracket they give with it was too small to actually bolt right on. I ended up making my own bracket based off the style of the one TRS supplies.
