I might just get a new one and build it up later on down the road and do everything all at once.

Hit that mud a little bit too hard? haha i follow you on instagram and saw that video, and I knew you'd be on the forum asking soon enough.

I had my transmission replaced by ford at 98k miles for $3300. At 120k it went out again, dropped 4th and would slip between 2-3. They rebuilt it for free, said it was a "direct clutch failure" I really don't beat on my truck that hard, so I'm not sure why it went out 22k after I had it replaced. Ford's warranty was 3 years unlimited mileage.

If it happens again, I will be taking it to a local shop that rebuilds them, because I have heard great things by them, but they weren't around 2 years ago or I probably would have gone there first.

One thing that my trans guy told me today about these trans and how they work. That if your going to get on it hard..... Even to pass a car on the hwy, to turn of O/D.... When you do that, the 2,3&4 gear clutch packs get better enguagement and will help the trans to last longer.

It wasn't even that pond from the video. The rest of the night after that it worked fine. It happened when we were leaving. Some how I ended up in one of the ruts cockeyed and got stuck. Not sure why I was the one that got stuck since two of the others guys I was with went through it fine with stock trucks. Regardless it kind of ruined my night.

The 4R100 is a tough transmission.... It also was standard in the 99-04 lightning. My 98 F-150 had a 4R100 as a factory upgrade.... I Know PA performance builds them and I beleve Lentech does too.
