gotcha..yeah i like the basic I system with bilstein front strut replacements. i was just comparing the other kits like rough country or zone that have the spacer. not saying its bad its just nowhere near the $1000 coilover setup. but you get what you pay for so it makes sense

I was considering a zone one, but for 200 or so dollars more I can get a pro comp. probably end up going with that, fab tech looked nice though, just a bit out of my range ;(

yep i went through the exact same sequence as you...first i wanted the rough country, then wanted the zone, then a 8" bds, and now i settled on a 6" fabtech...hahaha..i change my mind way too mich but its all because of the research and shopping aroind i did...here in Mass you can only have a 4" lift max if you go by the books...but i heard they dont bother you if it looks fairly normal and you do not have a 12" RIZE with 40" tires or something...so i found a place up in maine (not many offroad shops up here) and they told me i can get a 6" fabtech with bilstein front struts for $1050 then 800 for installation...that made up my mind when i heard i can get everything done for under $2000.

Thats a darn good deal, I'd hop on that. The Fabtech lift is superior to the other 6" lifts because it doesn't have a fat spacer up front, it doesn't stack blocks in the rear (just one large replacement block), and the truck sits perfectly level on all 4 wheel wells (no bull-dawg look or rake). Rides like factory too and like I said before, beat it up offroad no problem.

yeah when i heard that they had that for 1050 i made sure and asked if that wasnt a typo but he clarified it was right so who knows..maybe they get a huge discount being an offroad shop cuz i cant find that same kit offered for anything under 1500...but im glad msall150 that you recommend it. thanks.

My problem with the FT kit is that the front is quite a bit wider than stock. I am having a heck of a time not having to trim metal on the back side of the fenders.

I wish I knew for sure how much the others widened the front.

And BTW, the FT kit does not have a spacer on top in the front. It has it on the bottom of the factory strut package.

I went with the bilisteins front and rear. I also don't sit level either, high in the front which I DO NOT like.

The lift calls for a 5" back spaced wheel. I could only find a 4.5 or 5.25 in a forged wheel that I was looking for. I contacted FT and they said the 4.5 would work fine "just may need some extra trimming" and the 5.25 would be too much. Well they will need way more trimming than I am willing to do to my truck. AND looking at clearances that I have the 5.25 should fit fine and will help with the clearance issue. So anyway I am waiting of a second set of wheels to be cut, not happy at all. I will try the 5.25 and see how they work out. I will sell off the 4.5 and take a beating for sure. I have seen other lifts going down the road and you can tell that the front is noticeably narrower than with the FT just don't know what lifts they are.

Yes, I know what you are saying. I actually have a set of replacement 4" springs to get rid of the FT blocks (4" of lift) which I think will get the back up with the front. I may have to put the factory blocks back in to help out. My question is that the Bilistein shocks are listed as a 3-4" lift shock. I will have to do some testing to see if they have the capacity to work with the new springs and factory blocks.
