Longtubes will require a custom tune for them..... The per-loaded tunes do not cover them.

Not to hijack your thread, but...

I just bought an '05 that the previous owner has added a "custom" exhaust. Straight piped duals that appear to have been done in someone's back yard. The pipes are nearly laying on the rear diff entirely too close to brake lines. They cut (torched) some bracket out of the way and the routing of the pipes do not allow for a spare tire. Needless to say, I'm headed to the muffler shop. My question is, is it possible to have stock (or near stock) sound levels, but still have improved flow? Is there any benefit to dumping in front of the rear wheels as opposed to behind?

Thanks

Yes, a magnaflow muffler with the factory muffler isn't much louder than a stock exhaust. The only real advantage to having the exhaust come out befor the rear tire is you don't have to worry about it getting hit by anything while backing up..... Other than that it's just prefrence

Agreed! I have a 2005 with True Dual straight pipes with 3.5" tips and I have noticed a huge difference in horsepower. Im looking at getting high flow cats soon. When I originally bought it a couple years back, the owner put on a Magnaflow muffler and it just wasn't enough for me. Of course I like the roar of straight pipes. If you are craving a muffler then magnaflow and flowmaster is the way to go. Glass packs or anything else won't last ya.

I have True Dual Straight Pipes with 3.5" tips. I noticed a bigger gain of HP compared to magnaflow when I had that. But that's nothing official, just what I felt. Plus it's much louder and has that low rumble at idle. Worth it more than just getting a muffler
