Sarcasm alert.

Agree with these guys. Unless you are adding a charger, I'm not so sure I would go all out on the exhaust system.

Now if you go through with an all out exhaust system (headers, hi-flow cats, etc), then definitely get it tuned and do the intake side as well.
I work at a ford dealership an a guy had an F 150 at the Y in exhaust had it cut off and run true duals out the back is there a big difference in horsepower verses a single out

When I do my exhaust it will be 2 1/2 inch pipe from the manifolds to the high flow cats into a 3 inch Y to a 1 in 2 out magnaflow and a lightning style exit

It depends on the vehicle. But with everything else you need a tuner to see the true potential.

This is a topic that is hard to answer on, it depends on the amount of money you are willing to spend on it(I.e. long tube headers, high-flow cats, etc.) and the type of sound you are looking for. These motors are computer controlled and without a retune or intake you will not see much of a HP gain with just an exhaust. If you are wanting a good gain then you should do a full exhaust (from block back to tips), intake and tuner.

"Retune" meaning a programmer if you don't already have one.
