Bed removal

Bed removal
I bought a tear down manual and there is no info on how to remove the bed. I need to replace the floor pan. Any tips? Do I need to rake the whole bed off to do this?

The metal floor on your bed needs replacement? This is the first I've read that this has to be done on an 04 to 08 F150. Were you hauling salt?
To remove the bed, you'd need to disconnect the factory wiring connections to the taillight and license plate lights, then remove the 4 bolts that hold the bed to the frame. And a few buddies to lift it off.

No salt, I bought the truck used and when I went to go get it linex put in I found a beautiful fist sized hole and the wheel wells all dent. I hammered out the wheel wells but the hole needs to be fixed. I didn't want to go the cheap route and just weld a panel over it. I want a clean look for when it does get linex. It was gonna cost roughly $1500-$1800 for a used bed. I was able to get all my parts from tasca ford for around $600. That includes shipping.

I have had a good many ford beds off you have a take the bumper off also then the bed lights also the fuel neck .. Just 3 bolts at fuel door , I think one ground strap also the axle vent hose
Also a good troxs bit and the fact you may have to cut and replace a few bed bolt, I usually just cut the heads off

Maybe the bumper (rear). I guess the other poster said to remove the taillights too, perhaps so you can get at the harnesses to unplug them (or just twist the bulbs from the taillight assemblies). I figured you could leave them on the bed and unplug the wire harnesses from underneath.
Good Luck. Let us know how you made out.

Well the rear bumper comes off so you can slide the bed back before you start lifting or you will scratch the cab with the lower coners of the bed
Best bet would be to try to remove the bed bolts, what makes them hard to remove they use blue lock tight and a self threading bolt and self taping u- nut
