^I've always got someone looking up under the rails when they are on to see what they are.

I am ordering the under rail lights on monday. When I called my local shop they told me that they have two brands; Recon and Putco. Does anyone have any experence with the Putco set? They look the same except that they look spaced farther apart.

Any help before Monday would be great.

I guess it depends on how long your bed is. The recon lights have four sets of leds on each side, and since I only have a five and a half foot bed I could gotten away with only three of them. I didn't plan it this way but when I installed them I started in the back of the bed (tailgate) and ran them along the under side of the rails. With the last one I ran it down the front of the bed stopping about 5 inches from the floor of the bed facing the back towards the tailgate, they really light up the whole bed. I have a retractable bed cover so you don't even see them and they are protected when the cover is open. If you have a tool box you would get the same protection from that as well, plus it would light it up under there.
