Default BCM location

Hello again ... todays problem is I'm trying to locate the BCM to hook up a remote start .... it says it's located on the drivers side rear cab wall ... and I'm not having any luck finding it ... I have a 2006 FX4 ... also if it's behind the back of the rear seat how do you get the seat back off ... Thanks in advance

Explain what a "BCM" is, as I have not heard of one on our 04 to 08 F150's. I know of nothing that's on the drivers side rear cabin wall.....

BCM is General Motors, Ford has a GEM module. Unfortunatly I don't have access to a repair data base at the moment to help you find it.

I'll have to look for the GEM in my Factory repair manual. I have a standard cab and have not run accross this GEM box...

I know I am bringing back a dead thread here but I came across this while planning out my security/remote start project which means others might stumble onto this and get confused.

I just wanted to say this information is incorrect, at least for our f150s, the BCM does exist in our ford trucks. I am looking at the wiring for it in my service manual right not. It is located on the left b pillar in regular cabs and on the left back wall in the supercab/crewcabs.

just didn't want potential searchers to get confused.

I was also confused on this as I have never heard of it, until a dealership said that I had a short in it somewhere. The claim is that the BCM is the issue causing my truck to "crank or turn over" once the key is inserted and turned to ACC.
