At least on the uppers... and I believe it after having a shop put in new ball joints upper and lower and they only lasted 25k miles approx.
Replaced upper control arms ball joints included, yesterday
as long as quick struts and sway bar links. Plan to do rear shocks today.

Basically as much trouble with ball joints as I've had on my truck, yes its well worth doing while your in there already.
What brand are you buying that they only last 25k?
or how much stress are you putting on them to fail as per snow plow,etc...?

I could see burning thru them at 25,000 with a three inch leveling kit.my o.e. uppers were toast at 50,000 with a 2.5 inch level. If I ever did it again I would stick with a 2 inch kit.

Nailed it - sadly very few believe this applies to their trucks,

I can't even get my own wheels out of the snow let alone a snow plow.
Napa Chassis, it is true, you can't just put a new joint in old control arm.

This is untrue. Just a few days ago I removed my OEM UCAs and installed ICON Uni-Ball UCAs. Although the holes are round there bigger than the bolt so misalignment can be possible. I was shocked with the amount of movement they had! The ICONs install using Factory hardware so it wasn't that the ICONs came with a small bolt or anything.

I had ZERO movement - the bolts ( all original FACTORY bolts ) were a tight fit - no slop.

And - being as **** as I am I went and got the camber checked - within spec.

Did you use different bolts? BTW - this was on a different year truck.

Quick tip - reinsert the bolts before you reinstall the UCA's - if they move laterally, get the alignment checked. If not - don't bother.

I realized after i posted that we were talking about different year trucks. Didn't think they were different, maybe it's all in my head lol. I reused Factory OEM bolts!
