Ball Joint

So I'm assuming that you can not just replace the rubber boot. I took a look at it today and doesn't look like that would be possible but why the F would Ford make it so you have to replace the entire control arm? Ford said $325 each arm and Advanced has some for $115 a piece.

Cheapest quote I got was 645 + shipping. But for the money I'm going to go with these as I think they are better than the Ford part. Since I am told they are a direct bolt on I don't think it can hurt and I was told that they actually improve the alignment angles with a leveling/lift kit.

You'll hear it when you go over bumps, mine made a loud clunking noise. A guy I know drilled them out and pressed in new ones for me. Afterwards he said he should have just bought the whole arms. That was a chevy though so they may not sell it separately for the ford.

jack up one side of the truck up in the front and get the tire off the ground, then shake the tire up and down and if it feels really "loose" then it needs to be replaced if its tight your ball joint are fine, when trying to shake the tire usin a bar makes the process alot easier
