bad injectors at 45k
has anyone else had/heard of bad injectors in the 05-06 range? I have an 06 and 3 injectors randomly went bad. When they did, it ruined 4 plugs and a cat. does anyone know of extended warranties for injectors on the 06s?
Now my CEL is on because of a bad cat, and a dealership told me that the cats were on back order for possibly the next month? anyone else heard of this. it was pretty shocking to me

I know Ford extended the warranty on some of the 5.4L motors due to bad injectors, not sure of the year range.

Run it down to the Ford Dealer, they can run the vin to tell you if it was one under recall. My brothers truck was a 06 with a 5.4 with bad injectors right about 50k. His was coverd under recall.

well maybe mine will be then too. i already got the injectors fixed since i was on a road trip and didnt have a choice. it might be too much to think that ford will reimburse me though.. however my cat still has a large amount of fuel in it, im guessing haha.
did they replace all of the injectors, or just a couple ^..im thinking about replacing the other 5, and 4 plugs as well, when i get home

He had all eight replaced, I'm not sure about the cats tho. He lives in a county that does not require emissions testing and he took them off and ran straight pipes. I know on a few 06 the COP would go out after a few years. They are a pain in the butt that's fore sure.

yeah i was thinking that if the cats arent covered by an extended warranty i was just going to cut them out. i dont have emissions either. did he weld it himself?

i think actually our cats are 8/80. but i also was told that if ford found out that the injectors caused the cat to fail, they wouldnt pay for it. so we will see i guess haha
