So recently i got a check engine light and the code was p0496 which is the sending unit. there is times when my gages dom lights cargo light, windows and sterio wont work at all. I've looked a lot through the internet and every one makes this symptoms sound like the instrument cluster, now i guess my real question is could it be possible that the relay oh the sending unit links to the instrument cluster causing all these other electrical features stop working?

I asked my mechanic and he believes that its just a cable not grounding properly or that might be wet....which i believe him mainly because the truck does it most of the time after it rained.

and to be exact it works fine again after i let the truck sit over night.
