Yeah I did think to myself more than once today "Im so glad I drive a truck" Despite what many like to think about these newer trucks they really are put together well in the areas that really count. The fact that it took an impact like this and was able to drive away is testament to that.

That's some crappy luck bud. Glad to hear you're alright. Big White will return to rule the road once again, its not nearly as bad as the first time and with your skills, she'll look good ad new when you're done.

Why would he need full coverage? The chick that hit him her insurance will be paying out the *** for damages unless for whatever reason she is an uninsured motorist. Sorry to hear that Kozal I enjoyed following your rebuild thread and honestly if you are willing to do it get a quote and take the money from the accident and just do it yourself. This will net you a little gift money for all the hard work you have put into the truck. If not then at least you won't have to do it this time right? Glad to hear you are okay and accidents do happen but the lady needs to make it right and hopefully she doesn't try to turn around and fight you on it... people tend to be rather shady.

Unfortunately Michigan is a no fault state so her insurance will not cover damages to my truck. The most I can get from her is the 500 to cover the deductible. After talking to my dad (the body shop) he doesnt think it will cost much more than $500 for us to do the repairs so we might just go that route and avoid insurance. I just have to file a claim with the other drivers insurance company. There isnt much the other driver can do to fight it really, the police have it in the report that she was out of control and I had control of my truck so she wont have much of a leg to stand on.

Aah gotcha but that is by far the most idiotic rule/law I have heard of. Seriously what is the point of having insurance when you can't even point a figure even if you can prove it? Anyways that sounds good it won't be much to fix it up and get it looking new again. Good luck man!
