If it's what I think it is, I used it on the black rubber weatherstripping at my window/door base. I had some fading/spotting on this weatherstripping, and this stuff worked well. The spots are gone, the weatherstripping looks nice again, and It's been over 8 months since I applied it.

Is it a black type liquid that comes with an applicator (sponge), or is it a clear liquid?

The stuff I use is a black thick liquid that comes with a sponge. Reminds me of shoe polish.

Mothers back to black is clear.I have yet to find a trim dressing that will not run down the paint after a rain. But the back to black does last a good while..

Yes just used it the other day. Had to apply it in 2 or 3 coats very heavily but still worked and makes the faded plastic on the truck look new again.

I just used it on the faded dark gray part of my center console. Worked amazingly well on that.

However reading amazon reviews, it appears this product is not considered very long lasting for exterior. I'll be interested to see how it holds up to being cleaned with simple green on my interior. I bet I'll just end up making it routine to clean with diluted simple green and finish with a re-application of mothers back to black.

I was seriously floored at how well this worked. The plastic was pretty darn faded (used console off ebay), and it basically kept the look of dark wet plastic after drying and buffing except without any feel of residue.

For exterior black trim the "Forever Black" dye kit seems to be a more permanent solution.

I used the Mother's Back to Black on my Stang's wiper cowl. A week later it was back to crap.
