Idk. I just cut the metal straps, and pulled it apart. Greased it with red wheel bearing grease and put it back together using zip ties to hold the boot on. That was 50k miles ago and I ain't had no vibration on take off since.

The main thing is greasing the splines. I don't know if just having grease in the boot will do anything or not

After reading how easy this was I decided to do it tonight with 200,000 my 05 is running as good as it was when I got it (130000) noticeable response as of now computer is showing better mpg but will give it a week and see how it goes since it was all reset. Thanks for the write up
