What's up with the ashtray rattle? There is a post here about it but I couldn't follow it and now can't find it to revisit. It's rattling but I can't find where or what part! Anyone?

mine rattled too and what i did is got some foam with adhesive on one side and just press the ashtray open, then if you notice the ashtray door we will call it overlaps on the sides i just put some foam on the left and right and away the rattle went. if you need more info such as pics pm me

in my truck the little arm that flips out as part of the cup holder was the culprit. crumple up a paper towel , stuff it in the cup holder and close the ash tray. at least this will tell you what is ratteling. I don't use the ash tray or the cup holder so the paper towel stuffed in there doesn't bother me.. I don't know what you might do for a permanent fix.

Ive got the ashtray on the dash and mine rattles constantly.
If I leave it open slightly it stops rattling. I also took the metal ashtray part out (I dont use it at all).

Id really like to find a permanent fix for it because its annoying.

pull it all the way out and check to see if there is any change behind it. on each side theres tabs to push in to pull out my son has pulled mine out by snatching it hes 4 so they will not break easy

my fix is for just the ashtray in the dash. Take a look at my pics and you will see what I am talking about. It was a quick $3 fix and it dosent look bad or comprimise the use of the ashtray at all!!

Their is a TSB for this.. I posted a threat awhile back about this issue.. Took out the ashtray and put three foam strips on the bottom and put it back in and the sound has never come back..
