When I did my timing components, I also did the lash adjusters and followers. I used throttle body cleaner on my solenoids to clean them out pretty good then dipped the solenoids in clean oil before I reinstalled them. For some reason when I had everything apart, I did not pull the VCT housing off to clean the screen behind them but even without doing that, I have not had any timing related issues since and its been about 5-6000 miles or so. I am now fighting a cracked manifold that just happened. Engine sounded a lot louder than normal yesterday when coming out of an appointment, started thinking of misfires, but this morning I looked for leaks and found one on the passenger manifold. Now trying to figure out how to do a temp repair till I can change the manifold.

I'd be interested to know about the dorman units too.....If they were the same price as the motorcraft ones, I'd buy the motorcraft but being from Canada, we get hosed up here.

Right now I can buy the dorman units for half the price (including shipping) than the motorcraft.
