Default Maybe ...but...

Thanks for all the input here, but I'm thinking its a bad (or a few bad) coil pack(s). The engine was just replaced about 1000 miles ago-truck now has 37000 miles on it,originally I took it in for a bad miss, they started by replacing the phasers-then it had a bad knock on the bottom end=issue was too much end play in thrust washers- Ford decided to change the engine. This all happened in a 2 week stretch (dropped it off Monday night and picked it up 10 days later with a new engine). NO complaints there!! Soooo.. from the paperwork it doesn't look like any coilpacks were changed. If they were missfiring on the old engine-- thats my first thought.
It shifts smooth up and down and there is no whining or any kind of odd noise in the rear,so I don't want to believe its trans or axle related...
I am going to try to get to the dealer tomorrow.

Doug77house---how many miles?

Thanks-more to come I'm sure...

Went to the dealer today and took the tech out for a ride-he seems to think its a torque converter issue. Dropping it off on Monday night.

My 07 Lariat doesnt have this problem but my Crown Victoria Police Intercepter work car has had this problem for several years and has 125K on it now. Whatever it is it doesnt seem to affect performance or reliablity.

I still have the same problem even after the stealership reflashed my computer!! I am thinking mine maybe my VCT solenoid because under light acceleration my cams are full advance at 1500-1700! Which is light acceleration!

I had a similar vibration and recently had the computer reflashed and the rear end clutch pack changed. I can't tell when the truck shifts anymore...very smooth

Default Well....

Got the truck back yesterday ---this is really dumb...it was 2 quarts low on fluid. The engine was replaced just over a week ago and when they refilled everything there were bubbles in the system (they said)---2 quarts is a big bubble!! I didnt think to check the fluid when it started acting up, it just came out of the dealership it should be ok --right? anyway..seems to be fine now.

I just noticed my truck has this issue but at a higher speed around 60 MPH. It feels like a rumble strip just a few moment before it downshifted.

What was your fix?

Low engine oil?
