whats up guys... new to the forum but im going to be picking up an 04 f150 fx4 and its either going to be silver or red... but the thing is i really want a black one and im having trouble finding one in a good price range around me. has anyone painted there truck??im trying to get a feel for the price... thanks

Hold out for a black one if thats what youre looking for.

When I was looking for a truck I found several black '04 FX4's.

Painting a truck will seriously diminish it's value. I'd hold out.

I was looking for an FX4 also and after searching for almost 3 months I found a Black one for a great price. The Silver and Red ones were the always less expensive then Black and even Navy Blue which I considered.

Hold out for what you want, keep a daily eye on craigslist, autotrader, vehix, etc. Also always pick up the free magazines on Friday's like Car & Truck Buyer.

It took me a while but I got a SICK deal and I got what I really wanted. Plus if you are looking at a complete paint job on a truck and you want it done right you will never spend less then $3K.
