Do you have any extra /accessory lights on the truck? Could be put there for multiple things really. Look behind the switch and try and trace the wire to something

No I don't. I was thinking the 1st owner may have HDTV a bull bar with lights or a light bar.

It's the self destruct. Don't touch it. And why is it a stupid place for a switch?

be great if it was an e locker. Id pry off the side panel near the door and the panel under the steering wheel, and have a look at the connections

My guess, since it's so close to the proximity of the headlight and interior light switch... it was for some sort of lights.

But like someone else suggested check out the backside of the panel and see if there's any wiring, and if there is, then trace them back. Check the front bumper grill area, and the back bumper/hitch area to see if there are mounting tabs or holes that look like they may have been for light tabs or mounting accessories.

cause your knee would hit it..
If your knee would hit a switch that sticks out that minimal amount (about 3/4"), then you certainly need a different vehicle, Shaquille.
