The switch is showing 2wd but your truck is showing your in 4 low?

I don't know if you've tried it, but I'm pretty sure you have to be in neutral, stopped, with foot on the brake to switch into or out of 4 low. If that doesn't do it, try backing up a little bit and retry.

When. I turn the truck on the lights come on then off like normal but if I switch it to 4whii or low it will not engage, it just doesn't work, he measured resistance between the PCM and switch and one of the lines shows a short somewhere bit I was asking if there might be a tsb on this or if someone that might have had this problem could pointe in the right direction so I don't have to follow the 10 miles of wire to find where there might be a bare spot in the wire shorting out the switch

Same thing happened to me. The small relay box under the hood was not attached securely, it was leaning a bit too the side so the seam of the lid and body was getting water in it. Fried and melted one of the relays. Two wires touched and my truck was locked in 4lo. Also caused the fuse fir the 4x4 relays to blow. It's a30 amp in the fuse box inside the truck.

There are two relays in there for 4x4. One turns transfer case motor clock wise and one counter clockwise.

Oh wow, that's no good. I haven't seen a TSB on it, but definitely something to watch for.

I went and looked at some of your previous posts. I see yours wouldn't go into 4x4 a while back also have trouble with a/c. Sounds awful familiar. The a/c clutch relay is also in that box. My 4x4 quit working quite a while before the relay fried.

And I don't know what the heck I did yesterday but it was in 2w, I was checking all fuses and relays then I went to drive and it was in 4L. I'm stumped on this one. The box under the good could be the coulprit but I tested them and they tested fine. I'm not the best with a multimeter either
